We do have 1 or two already modded GE-7's for sale, but 1st let's talk about the mod!Yep, someone right here in our area is doing mod service and selling modded guitar effects pedalsThe GE-7 is actually a pretty good pedal right out of the box. I think everyone would agree that depending on where you move the sliders, there is a bit of a noise issue.We have studied the different mods available out there. While some of these folks may use slightly different parts, they all pretty much replace capacitors and op amps to lower the noise and to improve the tone. If you see a resistor mentioned, well that's there to control the brightness of the LED which is usually replaced also.So, no smoke and mirrors or snake oil here! We use quality metal film capacitors to replace those stock electrolytic and some of the tantalum capacitors. We use high-quality/low noise NE5532 op amps as replacements for the stock op amps, just because that is my preference. But not to worry, we put in IC sockets for each op amp replaced, so you can still experiment with other chips if you like. And of course we are going to put in a nice bright blue LED. . .the "water clear" LED is clear when the pedal is off, and a nice noticeable blue when on.There is simply no better mod out there for the GE-7. The result is a warmer, fuller pedal with more clarity and a lot less noise!Drop it off!$42 gets your GE-7 modded.
