1700s Alphabet print (Bentonville in Fayetteville, AR
Picked this up at a carousel in Richmond, VA. It's a print produced by Carington Bowels of St. Pauls Churchyard in London. It depicts a group of acrobats moving their bodies to produce the shapes of the alphabet. It was probably used in the same manner of teaching as today, to make learning appear "fun". Each figure has a poem about it directly underneath. Purchased in Richmond, VA and comes in a very nice metal frame. [removed phone]Listing originally posted at http
